What We Have Done –

Southeast Pennsylvania Search and Rescue (SEPASAR) is a group of experienced mounted and ground search
personnel who have volunteered to serve the area as trained search, animal rescue, and disaster assistance personnel.
Following changes to federal regulations concerning emergency responses a community risk assessment  disclosed that
resources for mounted search and rescue were lacking . Therefore a determined effort was made to locate the expertise
in the community and in June, 2005 SEPASAR was incorporated as PA non-profit corporation. Fundraising and
recruiting efforts resulted in the organization becoming viable in January, 2006 with members, insurance, county
dispatch, and access to public safety training facilities. By July members had basic training, attended Large Animal
Rescue at the New Bolton Center of the University of Pennsylvania and established a training ride schedule.

We are a professional organization. Our volunteers serve on international standards committees for search and rescue.
Several have over 20 years SAR experience, and most riders have over 10 years in the saddle. Our training program
features our state certified instructors in SAR, rescue, and emergency organizations.
